Artist Statement:
My work is concerned with light, form, and the quiet structure of a place.
I photograph landscapes and architecture primarily in black and white, reducing the frame to shape, tone, texture, and space. Removing colour allows me to concentrate on what first drew me to the scene: the geometry of a building, the movement of water, the isolation of a tree, or the way light changes the character of a surface.
Long exposures and infrared photography are part of that exploration, not as effects, but as ways of seeing beyond the immediate moment. Time becomes visible. Familiar places become quieter, simpler, and sometimes slightly unfamiliar.
I am less interested in documenting exactly what a place looks like than in describing what it felt like to stand there.
The photographs are an attempt to create stillness — images that ask the viewer to slow down, look longer, and notice the architecture of light.
